I did my bento the “wrong way round” today – first I made the food for the bento, then I ate the leftovers for dinner :)
Big box (background): Couscous with chopped parsley, rucola and sundried tomatoes (dressed with some lemon juice and olive oil, salt and pepper)
Small box (foreground): Sliced organic tomato, corncob flowers and fried Halloumi on lettuce.
I’ve been experimenting with different angles on this photo… what do you think?
BF’s box. I think it actually looks better than my box IRL, but it didn’t seem to want to come out on the photo. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
I like all the angles. But the cornflowers look bigger in the second picture.
Lovely Bento, so simple and delicious. Love that you used couscous.
Thanks! Couscous is perfect bento food – fast to make and delicious! (Except that you can’t eat it with chopsticks maybe – I recommend a spoon…)
;)
The middle photo looks best to me. The couscous doesn’t require focus, so that can be in the background. And the middle one is better than the top because the corn and tomatoes do really well closeup.
I don’t even know what halloumi is? Looks like a potato cake, sort of.
:D Halloumi is a type of cheese that can be grilled or fried because it doesn’t melt easily. It’s tasty!
This one is actually “grilloumi”, a cheaper variant made of cow milk (instead of sheep, I think). It doesn’t make much of a taste difference to me though.
