I love shopping days. I usually end up making a whole lot of different fresh foods that day!
After using up fridge contents last week, I have leftovers for bento today.
1/4 of a mini pie with feta and sundried tomatoes, rucola, two heirloom tomatoes and a fishy with vinaigrette in the top layer.
Half a marbled muffin [...]

I harvested my first homegrown zucchini today!
A piece of it is in this bento, stuffed with risotto. Then there’s triangles of rosemary polenta, ratatouille, some salad leaves and grapes for dessert.

The BF has the same, with polenta cut into hearts (I’m soppy…):

The cutouts are hidden underneath the ratatouille.

The ratatouille and polenta are leftovers from yesterday; [...]

This bento contains fried Halloumi cheese drizzled with thick balsamico vinegar, couscous and baby spinach salad, cherry tomatoes, ecological garden salad, a wedge of grapefruit and spices.
Mmm, lots of my favourite tastes.

The BF gets the same, plus some grapes and a Mr. WA Mozart chocolate truffle.

I found a new “bentobox” at IKEA! It’s not specifically made for food, but should take not-too-soggy food OK. It holds 2×380ml, which is a very nice portion size, does not lock tight by itself (so you’ll need a furoshiki) but does have a nice handle on top. Will report on how well the box [...]

The BF ordered more of that delicious chard and feta strudel, so I was happy to oblige.
Other than that, the box contains Maché salad, a red easter egg and a cut-up slice of Osterpinze with grandma’s homemade apricot marmelade.

Bento eleventy-one! (<-huge geek)

Strudel made from bok choy and feta, green salad with pickled grilled bell pepper, pumpkin pie.
Spinach and Swiss chard strudels are simple, but lovely. I tried it with bok choy (chinese cabbage) this time, which gave the whole thing a very nice, firm texture.
How:
Wash one medium-big head of bok choy and cut [...]

I’ll admit it.
I’m seriously addicted to pumpkin. I can’t go past a slice of pumpkin in the supermarket without buying it.
Incidentally, pumpkin has always been a savoury thing to me - I’ve never had a pumpkin pie, but instead soup, steaks, schnitzel and of course this tasty risotto…
Making Risotto is always about the same main [...]

It’s a very simple bentobox to start bentoing again, but it will serve for now.
Wholewheat spaghetti with two types of sauce: one contains shredded zucchini and tomato sauce, the other is lightly fried onions and shredded carrots with a dash of balsamic vinegar. Both are seasoned with fresh rosemary, herbes de provence and a little [...]

R is for Ratatouille

Sunday’s cooking project was to find out if I could make a ratatouille like in the movie…

I could!
More later. And the recipe, too. Asd more missing advent posts…
