I harvested my first homegrown zucchini today!
A piece of it is in this bento, stuffed with risotto. Then there’s triangles of rosemary polenta, ratatouille, some salad leaves and grapes for dessert.
The BF has the same, with polenta cut into hearts (I’m soppy…):
The cutouts are hidden underneath the ratatouille.
The ratatouille and polenta are leftovers from yesterday; [...]

Mmm, lasagna. Nice, heavy, stick-to-your-ribs food for those cold winter days.
…right?
I love lasagna but I suck at making bechamel sauce. I am not particularly fond of the buckets of butter that go into it either. And since I’m vegetarian, fillings are a challenge… and take quite a bit of time to prepare, normally.
So because it’s [...]

I have a huge backlog of posts I didn’t get to write up recently. Hrm. I’ll try working on it in the next days.
This is some proper buffalo milk mozarella that I found in a supermarket catering specifically to foodies recently. To explain the difference between what is called “Mozarella” here and proper Mozarella, I’ll [...]

Back to the pasta bentos - penne (actually girandole) with creamy sundried tomato sauce, pine nuts and rucola. Some more rucola and cherry tomatoes in the back, a fishy with balsamico vinegar and some grapes as dessert.
The recipe is stolen from a restaurant here - it’s one of my favourite dishes there.

I’ll admit it.
I’m seriously addicted to pumpkin. I can’t go past a slice of pumpkin in the supermarket without buying it.

Making Risotto is always about the same main [...]

Tomorrow is my first day at a new workplace. Since I have to give myself a little message (Ganbatte ne! Fight-o! and so on) and also, since I have to get up quite a bit earlier and after work, renovating a new apartment is on the plans for the evening, I packed a little breakfast [...]

I know I know, I’m lazy with updating. Here’s a bento from Tuesday, when the bloodbus finally came. I swear, our vampires are the laziest around…
Wholemeal tortellini with pesto and a huge basil leaf, carrot sticks and hummus to dip, pieces of a mooncake, a frozen strawberry and blueberries, banana chunks with chocolate sauce. [...]

Remember those?
Today I left work earlier and was able to spend time on cooking! Yay! Finally!
I shouldn’t be so irrationally giddy about this, I’m sure… but who could resist when the end product looks like this?
Stuffed zucchini have a reputation for being the “Help, it’s harvest time and my garden is full of giant zucchini!” [...]

A breakfast/snack box - since I have started training Aikido I actually start feeling hungry in the morning! And since I should go in early tomorrow to get as much work done as possible while the sun is still up, I thought I’d better get something to start me of well and soften the hunger [...]
