I’m continuing with the green theme this week – today stopping in the Mediterranean region.
Börek with feta and spinach, green olives, cucumbers and lettuce in the big box.
Green pasta with pesto, avocados, a lone red tomato flower and a chocolate frog who was probably attracted by all the lush greenery!
I’d have liked to put some homegrown herbs and salads into this week’s challenge, but sadly we don’t have any at the moment. They’re sown, now it’s time to wait until they grow!
From that angle, the frog looks a bit like Cthulhu, the demon from H.P. Lovecraft’s books. Which also fits with green theme.
The Cthulhu frog seems to be a common meme today! I’ve gotten the same comments on my livejournal community post. I’ve now officially stopped considering them as frogs and they will forever be Chocolate Cthulhus. Ia!
;)
So, what did you hide under the seeds package….:) Pretty well done. I’m always amazed in front of your bentos!
Oh, I didn’t hide anything – the packets were just to add more green and show off the sorry state of my own plants right now!
;)
That Borek looks delish – any chance of a recipe?
I’ve posted a recipe previously but it’s really quite simple – cover feta sticks in braised spinach (I took frozen spinach and squeezed the moisture out of it), then roll them up in phyllo dough triangles. Deep-fry or ovenbake until they are warmed through and crispy on top.
You can also flavour the spinach with the spices of your choice but it’s really already good just like it is :)
